The Warren was created in 2018 by Kath Warren. The big idea? To create a space where all things cultural can be collected, shared, championed and gushed about. The Warren seeks to inspire, invite and encourage discussion and interest in culture, both contemporaneous and otherwise. After an extensive brainstorming session, the image of a Warren (‘a network of interconnecting burrows’) felt like the perfect fit. Ultimately, the aim is to become a collective space where contributors from many fields can share their work, hobbies and interests.
Posts will range from book club-style literary reviews to musings on television and cinema, event write ups to exhibition recommendations. Follow me on Instagram, Twitter and WordPress on the right to stay up to date.
Graduating with a degree English Literature from the University of Glasgow in 2018, Kath wanted to ensure she continued her passion for writing and sharing all things literary, artistic and cultural. After running lifestyle blog Those Vintage Thoughts from 2012 to 2016, her interests changed and she wanted to create a fresh space. After much time using Instagram, WhatsApp voice notes and wine laden evenings with friends to share recommendations and current interests, she decided it was time to get back to the blogging world to share what she loves most.
Having grown up in the Scottish Borders and living across Edinburgh and Glasgow since 2013, Kath considers Scotland home and her passion lies in the Scottish arts scene which she believes brings a warmth, vibrancy and richness that can’t be rivalled. Having worked at organisations and festivals across Scotland, this was the artistic space she most wanted to immerse herself in.
Kath is currently Events Producer with Creative Edinburgh, an organisation helping creatives across Edinburgh connect and build their career.
